Commencing at 8 p.m., this electrifying duo, composed of the talented Goran Farkaš and Marijan Jelenić, will weave a musical tapestry that merges electronic harmonies with the age-old melodies of the Istrian peninsula. It’s an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in the sounds of local musicians while mingling with the welcoming local crowd.

If your preference leans toward the cinematic arts, an enchanting outdoor movie night awaits you – and all you need is your trusty car to reach it!

The summer open-air cinema series continues, a collaborative effort between the Pazin People’s Open University, promising a magical evening under the stars.

Mark your calendars for Monday, August 21, as Gračišće hosts a screening of “Amélie.” This heartwarming film unfolds the tale of a girl unloved in her youth who gradually opens her heart to the world, spreading kindness and ultimately discovering love amid a series of serendipitous events.

Then, on Tuesday, August 22, Tinjan beckons with “Mia and the White Lion.” This touching story follows a girl’s journey from the bustling city to Africa, where she forms an extraordinary friendship with the king of the animal kingdom, a majestic lion.

The grand finale of this summer cinematic experience awaits on Thursday, August 24, at St. Peter’s in the Woods, featuring the timeless classic “The Bridges of Madison County.” Don’t squander the chance to savor these movies beneath the starlit canopy, for warm summer evenings are fleeting, and these are the last screenings of the season.

To add to the delight, all screenings are free of charge and commence at the enchanting hour of 9 p.m. Embrace the beauty of Central Istria’s culture and entertainment offerings, for they are but a car ride away, and the starry summer nights are calling.

Explore Central Istria with Guided Walking Tours

When you’re in Central Istria, there’s no need to delve deep into the town’s history on your own. Thanks to the Tourist Board of Central Istria, you can embark on informative and engaging guided walks led by licensed tourist guides for Istrian County. These tours promise to unveil the rich tapestry of history and cultural treasures that define this captivating region. Operated in collaboration with the Tourist Agency Contineo, these tours are available in both Croatian and English throughout the week.

Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect: 

Mondays: Venture into the charming towns of Pićno and Gračišće. The meeting point is Pićno, right in front of the St. Rok chapel. If you’re eager to savor the flavors of Istria, tastings of wine, olive oil, and distillates are possible with prior notice and a small surcharge.

Tuesdays: The tour leads you through the enchanting town of Pazin, with the gathering point at the St. Nicholas parish church. As part of this experience, you have the option to explore the Pazin Castle, the Ethnographic Museum of Istria, and the Museum of the City of Pazin for an additional fee.

Wednesdays: Saint Peter in Šuma and Tinjan await your exploration. Meet up in front of the Pauline monastery in St. Peter in the Forest and delve into the native collection of Depiero. If you wish, you can enhance your experience with a visit to Hiža Istrian Pršut, featuring a presentation and tasting of Istrian prosciutto and other delectable cured meat products, provided you notify in advance and pay a small extra fee. 

Thursdays: Discover the charms of St. Lovreč, with the meeting point on Istarska Street, in front of the Dom coffee bar. The tour also includes a visit to the “Gušta Lovreča” event, ensuring you savor the local delights to the fullest.

These tours offer an enriching way to dive into the culture and history of Central Istria, all while guided by experts who will breathe life into the stories of this remarkable region.
