The museum‘s permanent exhibition is guided by two principal themes: “naive art as a segment of modern art” and “the creators of the history of Croatian naive art.” Approximately 80 pieces of art, featuring renowned figures like Generalić, Virius, Lacković Croata, and Rabuzina, are on display. Beyond Croatian works, the museum also showcases pieces by internationally acclaimed artists.

ARTS AND CRAFTS MUSEUM

 

Founded in 1880, the Arts and Crafts Museum has evolved into a leading institution in Croatia, holding a vast collection of nearly one hundred thousand fine and applied art objects, some dating back to the 14th century. Although currently closed to the public, its permanent exhibition, unveiled in 1995, spans approximately 2,000 square meters across 14 halls on two floors. The museum’s library, home to around 65,000 volumes of books and magazines, stands as one of the oldest and most significant special libraries for arts and crafts in this region of Europe.

NIKOLA TESLA TECHNICAL MUSEUM

 

Established in 1954, the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum is a repository of scientific and technical knowledge, featuring 14 thematic units with numerous sub-themes. In recent years, the permanent exhibition has undergone enhancements, including the complete renovation of Nikola Tesla’s Demonstration Cabinet in 2006.

The State Archives in Zagreb have been around since 1907, starting as the Zagreb City Archives managed by the “Brothers of the Croatian Dragon” Society. Since 1947, they’ve been chilling in the Erdödy-Drašković Palace from the 19th century. It’s a public place that keeps and takes care of old records, some going all the way back to the 13th century. There’s a massive 12,000 square meters of historical stuff stored in 1,269 archives and collections.
