Sustainable Tourism Campaign: A journey into Croatia, where beauty converges harmoniously with responsible and eco-friendly travel practices.
The Croatian Tourist Board launches a sustainable tourism campaign during the post-season. Sustainable tourism has long been a strategic goal for Croatian tourism. The campaign, titled ”Experience what’s local. Explore sustainable Croatia,” targets the domestic market from mid-September to mid-November. It’s the third installment of this effort, focusing on promoting rural areas in the post-season with an emphasis on sustainability.
Kristjan Staničić, the director of Croatia’s national tourism body, highlights the shift from lesser-known destinations to prioritizing the sustainability of locations. This includes products, content, and services integral to sustainable travel, emphasizing environmental care, destinations, and local communities—aligned with the Strategic Marketing and Operational Plan of Croatian Tourism.
The campaign showcases eight thematic video clips featuring sustainable tourism examples across Croatia. From Hvar to Papuk, it highlights the growing awareness of environmental responsibility in the travel and tourism industry, with room for further progress. Croatia invites travelers, businesses, and institutions to join in nurturing a sustainable travel future.
