Join us to explore the latest in camping technology, amenities, and experiences, as we delve into the dynamic world of outdoor living in Croatia’s most captivating destinations.
Pag Island boasts numerous campsites, and lately, they’ve been making their offerings even better. Among camping enthusiasts, Pag is famous for the Straško and Šimuni camps, but there are other cool ones too. One standout is Terra Park Phalaris, situated on the island’s western side, right by the sea. It sits on a pebble beach, just 3 kilometers north of Novalja.
Terra Park Phalaris isn’t huge—it’s got about 200 pitches and rows of mobile homes on one side. Many of these mobile homes are made by Adria Home from Slovenia. They’ve been working closely with the camp and are putting up 53 new mobile homes this year. These homes are top-notch: each one will have a heated swimming pool and nice big terraces shaded from the sun and rain by pergolas.
This year, Terra Park Phalaris is spicing things up with two new types of mobile homes. The bigger ones are 70 square meters, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a 36 square meter covered terrace featuring a swimming pool. The smaller ones are 40 square meters, with 2 bedrooms, and the same 36 square meter covered terrace with a pool.
For those looking for a premium beach experience, there’s the Marinus Deluxe Camping Villa, situated right by the beach. They’ve got options like the Tamaris Superior mobile homes (40 to 80 meters from the beach), Tamaris mobile homes (80 to 140 meters from the sea), and Pinus units (over 140 meters from the shore). Misteral’s pergolas, covered with solar panels, will offer cool shade on the terraces.
But that’s not all for this camping season! Terra Park Phalaris is upgrading its fun facilities too. They’re building new jetties on the rocky beach part, creating spots for sunbathing and easier access to the water. Plus, there’s a new beach bar on the left side of the camp, adding to the one already on the right side, where guests can chill out in the shade during the day and enjoy stunning sunsets in the evening.
They’re also sprucing up the central area of the camp. Already boasting several sports fields and a fitness center, this year, they’re adding a modern beach volleyball court. And for the little ones, there’s a brand-new, big playground with all sorts of fun stuff. Plus, right next to it, they’re setting up a space for movie nights and evening events, perfect for family fun.
The Aminess Atea Resort camp in Njivice on Krk Island got a complete makeover in recent years. This year, they’re upping their game by renovating the “Stari Ribar” facility into a swanky wellness center, set to open this summer. Currently holding a 4-star rating, they’re eyeing another star in the future and aiming for the ADAC Superplatz certificate, which would put them among Europe’s top camps. Aminess Atea Resort keeps its gates open long, from March 29th to November 3rd, offering one of the longest camping seasons.
Nestled in a dense oak forest, Aminess Atea Resort is one of the larger camps, providing natural shade for its 420 plots. These plots come with electricity, water, and drainage systems. They also offer modern mobile homes from Adria Home, with various options available. For something special, opt for a mobile home with a private pool and sea view. Their 3-bedroom units suit families or groups, while classic two-room and smaller one-room units cater to couples.
The big upgrade we’re excited about is the transformation of the “Stari Ribar” building, right by the sea. It used to be a restaurant but has been closed for a while. Just before this year’s season, they started revamping it into a lovely wellness center, set to open in June.
Downstairs, there’ll be a chill-out zone and bar for wellness guests. Upstairs, you’ll find the spacious wellness area, offering:
One of the region’s largest camps, surrounded by a lush oak forest that provides plenty of shade. With over 1000 pitches, mostly for camping, and some areas for agency-managed mobile homes, it’s a spacious spot. Its extensive coastline features a mix of concrete and pebble beaches, many offering shade. There’s even a dog-friendly beach on the left side, making it a top pick for dog owners.
The camp boasts pools in three spots: an older one by the sea, several freshwater pools up top, and two new ones on the left side. This year, it’ll be open from April 24th to September 29th.
They’re sprucing up the pool area in the middle of the camp for summer, adding four new slides for kids, a water playground, and revamping the sunbathing spots. Plus, there’s a new playground near the central pool area, next to toilet block 2. They’re also giving a makeover to sanitary node 2, making it modern and inclusive with facilities like children’s toilets, baby changing stations, laundry rooms, dog showers, and more, catering to everyone’s needs.
Camp Zelena Laguna is a bit smaller than Camp Bijela Uvala. It’s got over 700 plots, most of them on a flat lawn near the reception, while some are up on a hill overlooking the sea. Some plots are out in the open, perfect for soaking up the sun in spring and autumn. The camp also offers mobile homes managed by the agency. This year, Zelena Laguna camp will be open from April 24th to September 29th.
Last year, they spruced up sanitary unit 2, and this year, it’s unit 4’s turn. It’s getting a full makeover, becoming one of Croatia’s most modern camp facilities. It’ll be wheelchair accessible, with a children’s toilet, dog shower, refrigerators, and laundry room. Plus, campsite owners can use it to empty chemical toilets.
Croatia’s camping industry is experiencing a remarkable transformation, with camps such as Terra Park Phalaris, Aminess Atea Resort, Bijela Uvala, and Zelena Laguna leading the charge toward modernization and excellence. From luxurious amenities to breathtaking natural surroundings, these camps offer a diverse range of experiences for travelers seeking adventure and relaxation.
As you plan your next getaway, consider the allure of Croatia’s campsites, where innovation meets tradition against the backdrop of stunning landscapes.
