As the winter chill descends, Salaj Land emerges as a radiant haven of lights that ignites the holiday season. Operating from December 1, 2023, until January 8, 2024, this enchanting wonderland opens its gates every day from 14:00 to 21:00. It ensures that visitors can bask in the magical glow not just on weekdays but also during weekends and holidays.

The tale of Salaj Land spans over two decades. Iti s a testament to the unwavering dedication of three generations of the Salaj family. Stepping into this ethereal realm, one witnesses the harmonious dance between reality and fantastical light displays. More than a mere visual feast, Salaj Land crafts a unique experience that unites people in the shared joy of the season.

This year, we decided to stop procrastinating and finally hit the road to Salaj Land!

It’s been on our bucket list forever, but life always got in the way. Not this time! We borrowed a friend’s car, cranked up the holiday tunes, and set out on a spontaneous adventure. The road trip vibes were real, and we were pumped to soak up all the dazzling lights and festive cheer waiting for us at Salaj Land. Here’s to turning “someday” into “today”!

What Awaits You Within This Luminous Kingdom?

Salajland is 60 kilometers from Zagreb, and we got there by driving the highway towards Slavonski Brod. We left at the Ivanić Grad exit and continued towards Čazma (approx. 15 km). In Čazma, we saw the signs “Christmas story of the Salaj family” at every intersection.

Over 4.5 Million Lights: Transforming the property into a dazzling realm, more than 4.5 million lights weave a tapestry of brilliance that captivates the senses.

New Surprises Every Year: The Salaj family’s commitment to innovation ensures that each visit brings fresh enchantment. Year after year, they unveil new light decorations and sculptures that add a touch of wonder to the landscape.

Daily Fireworks Extravaganza: Set against the canvas of the night sky, a breathtaking fireworks display unfolds every day around 6 pm, casting an ephemeral spell of magic.

Christmas Nativity Scene and Historical Quarry Presentation: Delve into the spiritual essence of Christmas with a meticulously crafted nativity scene. There is also a presentation of the tomb of Jesus, nestled in the historic quarry dating back to 1905.

Our verdict: Salaj Land was a delight in every way, but what stole our hearts were the twinkling lights. Over 4.5 million of them turned the place into a wonderland, sparking pure joy. Also, when the sun set, the fireworks took over, turning the sky into a canvas of colors. The combo of lights and fireworks made the evenings pure magic.

Salaj Land Christmas Fairytale is a blast for families with kids! The whole program is designed to make little ones giggle with excitement. And guess what? Santa Claus is the VIP guest! Kids can snap a pic with him, creating memories that will stick around like holiday magic. It’s the kind of place where laughter fills the air, and every corner holds a sprinkle of joy.
